Prof. Yimon Aye was recently selected by the Women Chemists Committee (WCC) of the American Chemical Society (ACS) as a recipient of the 2017 WCC Rising Star award for excellence in the scientific enterprise. Aye is one of six exceptional women scientists approaching mid-level careers across all sectors (academic, industrial, government) to receive this award for her demonstrated outstanding promise for contributions in the field of Chemical Biology. An awards symposium will be held at the 253rd National Meeting of the ACS in San Francisco, CA on Monday, April 3, 2017 where Aye will give an oral presentation of her work with an awards ceremony following the symposium.
Prof. Aye was also recognized as a recipient of the 2016 International Chemical Biology Society (ICBS) Young Chemical Biologist award, sponsored by ACS Chemical Biology. This award acknowledges young investigators who have made ground-breaking contributions to the field of Chemical Biology. Aye will give a podium presentation on her research in a special “Rising Stars” session at the 5th Annual ICBS Conference held from October 24-26, 2016 in Madison, WI.
