Academic focus:
Therapeutic targeting of transcription
Current research project:
The Seath Lab targets disease-driving proteins long considered "undruggable." Using light-activated chemistry, we map the protein neighborhoods that surround these targets inside living cells, then design molecules that disrupt the protein assemblies unique to the diseased state. We then apply medicinal chemistry to refine these molecules into selective, drug-like therapeutic leads.

Organic Chemistry for Majors (CHEM3600) is going to be fun; some of the students I'll be teaching will likely be future faculty colleagues! Organic 2 is when you really start being able to understand how molecules are built and it changes how you see the world.
