Congratulations to Anne LaPointe, Director of the Catalyst Discovery and Development Laboratory, for her acknowledgement by DiversifyChem.
DiversifyChem was founded by Anne McNeil, Cornell PhD Alumna from the Collum Group, who is intersted in issues of diversity and inclusion in chemistry. McNeil created DiversifyChem to create a database of chemists from underrepresented groups (women, underrepresented minorities, LGBQ, etc), along with their areas of chemistry specialization. The Twitter account and database focus on improving visibility of chemists from underrepresented groups, as well as tweeting out links to articles and studies about diversity in the sciences. The database will help people putting together symposia/seminar schedules ensure that they have a diverse group of speakers, help with award nominations, and help people network.
