Founded in 1896 at the Department of Chemistry at Cornell University, the Journal of Physical Chemistry (J. Phys. Chem.) has honored Benjamin Widom, Goldwin Smith Professor Emeritus of Chemistry, with the publication of the Benjamin Widom Festschrift issue on April 5, 2018. This issue contains a Tribute to Widom from multiple generations of colleagues and students as well as a Scientific Autobiography detailing Widom's life and career as one of the leaders in the field of Statistical Mechanics.
