On June 19th, Dr. Rong "Rocky" Ye was presented the 2019 Victor K. LaMer Award at the 93rd ACS Colloid & Surface Science Symposium by Professor Nicholas Abbot, a Chemical Engineering professor at Cornell University.
The award's namesake, Victor K. LaMer was an experimental physical chemist at Columbia University. According to the ACS Chemistry website, this $3,000 prize is presented annually "for an outstanding Ph. D. thesis accepted by a US or Canadian university". Dr. Ye is a Presidential Postdoctoral Fellow at Cornell University with the Chen Group. He has published fourteen papers (eight as first author), and his dissertation is titled, "Development of Molecular Catalysts to Bridge the Gap between Heterogeneous and Homogeneous Catalysts".
