The Department of Chemistry & Chemical Biology (C&CB) at Cornell is recognized as one of the nation's oldest and most esteemed chemistry departments.
Our department has been home to some of the world's most distinguished chemists, including four Nobel Prize winners and two MacArthur Genius Award recipients. C&CB founded the Journal of Physical Chemistry and has consistently been ranked as a Top 10 chemistry graduate program by U.S. News & World Report.
Our faculty are renowned for their groundbreaking research in a wide range of areas, from nanoscale materials to supramolecular chemistry. Undergraduates exploring the discipline and graduate students working on a Ph.D. are able to conduct cutting-edge research with the leading chemists in the field today.
