Undergraduate Chemistry Major, Catherine Badding was awarded the April 2019 Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation. This award acknowledges Badding's impressive academic performance as well as her work and research with Professor Héctor D. Abruña and the Abruña Group. Over 5,000 college sophomores and junions were nominated to compete this year. Thirty-three scholarships, including Badding, were awarded in the state of New York. Catherine Badding's career goals are to earn her Ph.D. in Chemistry and to conduct research in fields related to inorganic catalysts and semiconductors.
